How many times have you said, “I know I need to take care of myself, but I just don’t have the time.” With all the stresses in life from work, school, family, and relationships, it’s no wonder that it’s hard to seek self care until you experience an injury or have been diagnosed with a serious condition.
It has long been proven that preventative medicine helps protect us from serious illnesses. If you think about it that old saying, “an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure” is really true. Isn’t it easier to take care of a minor cut or scratch instead of ignoring it and possibly being hospitalized for a serious infection? If you put yourself last, it will be hard for you to take care of others who depend on you. This is why the airlines always say that an adult needs to put on their oxygen mask first before assisting a child; otherwise, the adult may pass out from the lack of oxygen and be unable to save the child. Are you ready for your dose of oxygen? Time to take care of you!
